Self drive

Johannesburg - Marloth Park - Mozambique

Arriving at the airport :

Hire a car at the airport in Johannesburg and continue to Marloth Park, see map. If you intend to continue to Mozambique, do tell the renting company in advance.

The airport in Nelspruit is an hour away from Marloth Park.

From Johannesburg :

Take first N12 East then the N4 towards Nelspruit. From Pretoria take N4 towards Nelspruit. By-pass Nelspruit and follow the signs towards Malelane and the Mozambican border at Komatipoort. Drive through Malelane and continue on the N4 for about 30kms, turn left at the sign for Marloth Park. There are 2 roads to Marloth Park. The first one is a dirt road (do not take this one). Take the second one which is Tenbosch Road.

After the entrance, drive immediately to the right and then left to Buffelstreet 4450.

From Mozambique :

When passing the Komati border post, follow the N4 for about 25km and then turn right at the Marloth Park sign (Tenbosch Road). Follow further directions as above.

A larger copy of this map will be found at the house, but this one clearly indicates that one should NOT take the dirt route, indicated bottom right, but continue on the N4 till the second sign.
